Plunderer, TV series anime based on a manga of the same name by Suu Minazuki. The first season of 24 episodes was premiered on January 8, 2020, and finished airing on June 25 2020. Fans appreciated the anime series when it first appeared on FunimationNow. The manga was licensed on July 8, 2018, and Monthly Shōnen Ace on February 18, 2018, revealed that anime television series will be produced by Geek Toys. The first season was a mixed bag of success and fans are anticipating a second season. But it seems that it will not happen anytime soon if not ever.

The series was directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe and written by Masashi Suzuki.

In a society based on a social credit point system where the position of an individual in the hierarchy is decided by their number count. If the number count of a person goes down to zero he gets rejected by the society and considered dead. Hina a young girl her mother dies when her number count drops to the zero. She embarks on a journey to fulfil the last wish of her mother. Her mother tells her to find one of the legendary Red Barons, legends who fights for the weak. She comes across a rebel with a negative count, and she becomes fondly of him.

Voice Cast for the season one included Saki Ichinose voiced by Miyu Kubota, Genji Akui voiced by Yohei Azakami, Kyouhei Suda voiced by Tomohito Takatsuka, Asumi Sumiya voiced by Yukimi Hayase, Kyouka Narumiy voiced by Tamaki Orie.

The first season was a bit disappointing with a good and promising plot. It relies heavily on the plot twists but soon they become predictable. However, those who made it to the end must be excited about the next season

As of now, 60 chapters of the original manga has been published so far. So there’s surely a big chunk of source material left and many stories to be told. But still the future of TV anime series in uncertain, no official announcement has been made so far. The studio which did the animation for the season one, Geek Toys is currently busy with another project Date A Bullet, which is slated to be released in 2021. So it ‘s going to be a long wait for the second season.
